The Second Full-Length Album, “Apokalypse” is Due on April 2nd, 2027, Following "Hamburg City Hardcore" (2024) and the EP "Brothers’ Inn" (2025).
Comments the band: “Unfortunately, hatred, division, and the shift to the right are more prevalent than ever, which makes it all the more important for us to stand up for a colorful, diverse society. We’re thrilled that we were able to bring Joshi on board to lend even more power to our message with his voice, and we hope this new version of ‘Frei’ will give you a little bit of hope during these difficult times.”
About a year after its initial release, Snakes in the Pit are re-releasing “Frei” to mark the anniversary: Their melodic hardcore anthem against hate, social division, and the shift to the right gains an additional voice with Joshi from ZSK. The new version is also the album version of the song and has been available since October 16, 2026. The accompanying music video premiered exclusively on VISIONS RIGHT HERE.
„Hier sind wir frei und wollen das auch bleiben” (transl: “Here we are free, and we want to stay that way”): The chorus sums up the song’s message. “Frei” calls on listeners to defend democratic freedoms, refuse to be pitted against one another, and stand together against exclusion. The song stands for an open, united society and the conviction that solidarity can be stronger than hate.
With Joshi, Snakes in the Pit have brought on a guest who has championed this cause for many years. In 2006, ZSK launched the “Kein Bock auf Nazis” initiative, which combats right-wing extremism and racism through educational efforts, campaigns, and free informational materials. For Snakes in the Pit, Joshi is therefore the ideal choice for the feature.
“Frei” was created as part of SONGUP!, an initiative that promotes music for democracy, diversity, and tolerance. Fans and friends of the band appeared as extras in the music video. Daniel Priess handled directing and cinematography, while Dominic “Paras” Paraskevopoulos was responsible for mixing and mastering the song.
