Century Media/InsideOut News: DISTANT, SUICIDE SILENCE u.a.
DISTANT – Release New Single “The Shallow Gaze (feat. Darius Tehrani)” From “Into Despair”.
Today marks another single and video drop from the busy Dutch/Slovakian deathcore outfit DISTANT.
“The Shallow Gaze (feat. Darius Tehrani)” oscillates between downtuned heaviness and bouncy hardcore grooves. For this video they teamed up with producers Jachym Belcher and Klara Galle.
The band shares about the song: “When vulnerability becomes a competition, even honesty starts to feel like a weapon. “The Shallow Gaze” featuring Darius Tehrani of Spite dives into the paranoia and self-doubt that come with living through trauma while constantly questioning who can truly be trusted.
The track confronts impostor syndrome and the exhausting need to validate your own suffering in environments where trauma dumping has become a form of one-upmanship. Instead of creating connection, every confession becomes another opportunity to compare scars, measure pain, and prove who has suffered more.
With its confrontational intensity and deeply personal subject matter, “The Shallow Gaze” captures the psychological toll of constantly questioning the intentions of those around you—and the realization that sometimes, the hardest person to trust is yourself.”

It is the next single taken from the upcoming album, “Into Despair”, that will be released on November 6th, 2026. Click here for preorders: https://DistantBand.lnk.to/IntoDespair_AlbumPR
“Into Despair” is DISTANT’s most personal and emotional work to date, exploring real-life struggles, loss, and the shared grief that connects humanity. The album dives deep into the darker corners of human experience while finding solace in collective understanding.
DISTANT elaborate: “Driven by raw honesty and pure emotion, ‘Into Despair’ is an album born from personal battles and lived experiences. Every song carries pieces of each member’s own journey, with moments of pain, reflection, and resilience woven into a deeply intimate body of work. More than just a collection of songs, ‘Into Despair’ is a cathartic expression of vulnerability and a reminder that even in our darkest moments, grief is something we all share. It stands as the band’s most heartfelt and authentic statement yet, transforming personal suffering into something universally resonant.”
Come January of 2027, you can catch them on the “New World Killer EU/UK 2027” tour with Spite, Emmure and Mauled.

SUICIDE SILENCE – Release “Make Your Exit” of Upcoming Album “Graceless”
“We are stoked everyone is loving ‘Graceless’!” say SUICIDE SILENCE “Now it’s time for ‘Make Your Exit’, a vicious track with tons of bounce. Nathan ‘Karma’ Cox killed it on the video. Go check out our recent podcast where we go over the creation of the song and video!”

Deathcore didn’t invent itself. The crushing combination of classic death metal ferocity with hardcore-punk spirit was created in garages and grimy venues. It was celebrated on message boards, in comment sections, and in sweaty, anarchic spaces where hardcore kids and death metal obsessives gathered. As the burgeoning subgenre formed, teenage metalheads dared one another to get heavier. SUICIDE SILENCE made their logo synonymous with the most volatile and definitive stomp of the postmodern sound. Since their first rumblings in California’s Inland Empire in the early 21st Century, the band’s fusion of sonic violence, punk confrontation, and unapologetic nü-metal bounce put a fresh face on extreme metal.
SUICIDE SILENCE remains stubbornly communal. They have always written best with bodies in a room, amps cranked, and friendly arguments evolving into arrangements. That collective instinct gives “Graceless” its strange comfort amid the chaos. It is vicious, ugly, physical, immediate, and fully inhabited by a band that survived every argument about what it was supposed to be.
As Garza puts it, the goal was to “just get out of the way and serve that band logo. When we choose to do that, great things follow. We’re back to doing it exactly as we did it when we were kids: just playing heavy shit and doing it from the heart.”
Deathcore was once a word thrown at them as a limit. Today, it’s a flag planted in the dirt. Twenty-four years after their first noise from SoCal, SUICIDE SILENCE stands in rare company: survivors who never mistook endurance for safety, craftsmen more than capable of making instinct sound like impact. “Graceless” is the circle closing, hard, with newly sharpened teeth, hungry for future conquest.
First on their agenda is the North American "Reminders of Hell" headlining tour, featuring support from Emmure, AngelMaker, and Synestia.

“Terrifying Angels” is a fearless, dark rediscovery of heaviness—a powerful riff-driven anthem that oscillates between a prog roller coaster and breathtaking beauty.” – Classic Rock Germany
“New art rock/modern prog at its finest!” - Eclipsed
The core trio of Jon Courtney, Annicke Shireen & Ravi Kesavaram are joined by a cast of collaborators for the album, featuring old friends and new partners alike. The eponymous song was born out of a jam session in Portland, Oregon, with founding bandmate Greg Jong, who also co-wrote “Rumination Ruin”. Meanwhile “Haywire Heart” and “Hold Your Wrath” – respectively the shortest and longest tracks in PRR’s discography – were both written alongside Paul Mullen, the alt-rock legend who fronted Losers and Yourcodenameis:milo. Finally, “Below Radiance” grew out of a section from a composition by Courtney’s mentee Kenny Fitzgerald.
