Pronoias releases single featuring former Battle Beast vocalist. ‘We Are The Same’ unites metal from Chile and Finland.
Chilean band Pronoias has just released ‘We Are The Same’, a new single featuring Nitte Valo (Dreamtale, Bad Marilyn, ex-Battle Beast). The track was performed live on August 5th at Semifinal in Helsinki, where the group shared the stage with Nitte at the "Chilean Metal Showcase" during the band's first European trek. This run of shows is part of a project funded by the National Music Development Fund, 2026 Call, of the Ministry of Cultures, Arts, and Heritage of Chile.
The single ‘We Are The Same’ represents a key moment in Pronoias' evolution, synthesizing the pillars of their artistic approach defined as “South American Empower Metal.” The song was born spontaneously during a walk by Félix Barros through a forest near Helsinki, Finland, becoming from the very beginning a piece designed to connect cultures, languages, and musical scenes through a common message. “I think it's the first time that melody and lyrics came to my head simultaneously. It was as if the forest had dictated the song to me,” Félix states.
The composition, written by Barros and arranged alongside Lucas Salazar and Rodrigo Joost, proposes a reflection on what unites people beyond their differences. Featuring verses in Spanish and English, as well as nods to Finnish and Mapudungun, the work becomes a tribute to the close relationship that has existed for decades between the Chilean audience and the Finnish metal scene.
One of the most innovative aspects of the release was the audience's involvement in the creative process. Through TikTok and Instagram, Pronoias shared previews of the composition and invited their followers to weigh in on the languages the track should include, Finnish concepts, cultural references, and even which Finnish artist would be the ideal guest for the project. It was precisely from this interaction that the collaboration with Nitte Valo was born, whose name was suggested by the band's own fanbase. “It is very inspiring to share this song with Nitte Valo; we admire her career and it feels great that she wanted to join us in this dream of paving our way in Europe,” notes vocalist Elizabeth Villegas.
The single's production counted on the support of bassist Lionel Toro, mixing by Rubén Verdugo, mastering by Francisco Arenas, and new artwork by Gonzalo Barrientos (@neecroman), who continues to develop the visual universe of Noia, the central character of Pronoias' conceptual identity.
