Copenhagen’s instrumental psych voyagers PAPIR unveil the sprawling opener “IX.I” from their upcoming album IX, out November 21st on Stickman Records!
With a sound that’s as fluid as it is focused, PAPIR continue to push their own boundaries. the first single “IX.I” sets the tone as a perfect introduction to their forthcoming sonic journey: a track that breathes, pulses, and stretches out in all the right ways. Terms like post-rock, ambient rock, psychedelia, and krautrock may circle PAPIR's distinct sound, but none quite capture its shimmering, elusive magic.

Their new album sees the band doubling down on what they do best: wide-open jams that unfold like landscapes. IX is a wide-open record in every sense. From the flowing compositions – which linger but never overstay, jam and unfold organically – to the wonderful airy production, you get the sense of being both in studio with the band and simultaneously on the beach with wind blowing through your hair. With touches of synth and extra percussion sprinkled in, it’s a record that feels alive in the moment, yet meticulously crafted.
