With their latest release, "In Praise of the Plague," Swedish melodic death metal band TERRORTORY strikes with a scathing critique on blind faith, ignorance, and the darker side of humanity’s choices. Known for their intense, hard-hitting sound, TERRORTORY explores the harrowing consequences of willful blindness in the face of knowledge, pairing ferocious instrumentation with lyrics that take aim at the lords of myopia. It’s a dark, piercing anthem for our times, where each verse bites deep and every riff reverberates with the band’s uncompromising message.

"In Praise of the Plague" is an unforgiving wake-up call, urging listeners to confront the insidious evils that thrive on misinformation and fear. With lyrics that speak to a world gripped by paranoia, despair, and destructive beliefs, TERRORTORY challenges the unchecked authority of the “kings of myopia” and those who build their reality on lies. The chorus—powerful, rebellious, and haunting—summons listeners to face the devastating outcomes of misplaced faith. A rallying cry against the forces that exploit fear, “In Praise of the Plague” solidifies TERRORTORY’s place as one of the most relevant and relentless voices in the melodic death metal scene. TERRORTORY to release full length “THE BLACK PRISM” on November 29th

Hailing from Skellefteå, Sweden, Terrortory has been carving their name into the melodic death metal scene with a sound that fuses raw aggression, grandiose melodies, and a complexity that challenges the listener at every turn. Known for their intense anger, strong arrangements, and intense love of chugs, Terrortory is now gearing up to release their highly anticipated second full-length album, The Black Prism.

The band, comprising Johan Norström (vocals, Katapult), Stefan Vidmark (guitars, ex-Nightscape), Emil Ceder (guitars), Tommy Nilsson (drums), and Olov Häggmark (bass), has undergone an evolutionary journey since its inception. Following the release of their previous full-length album The Seed Left Behind and the EP City of Ghosts through Discouraged Records, they have embraced new challenges and matured as songwriters. This evolution culminates in The Black Prism, a self-produced, independently released opus consisting of ten tracks that showcase the band's most complex and epic compositions to date.

Regarding the creation of their latest album, Terrortory describes it as a project filled with unexpected paths and challenges:

“This has been a project with many phases and challenges. This, in turn, has forced us onto paths we could not have anticipated or imagined. Songs we long thought were finished have been torn down and rebuilt, and in the end, we had a much stronger product that we are all incredibly satisfied with.”

The band promises that The Black Prism will feature their fastest and most intricate music, drawing inspiration from the vastness of the universe as well as the dark depths within the human soul.

Terrortory’s dedication to their craft extends beyond music. The band produced, recorded, and mixed The Black Prism themselves, with mastering handled by Kai Stahlenberg at Kohlekeller Studios. Their hands-on approach continues with the creation of music videos to accompany the album’s release. With vocalist Johan Norström’s experience behind the camera and bassist Olov Häggmark's work in front of it, the videos are poised to deliver a blend of space anxiety and dark humor.

In keeping with their signature style, The Black Prism features a mix of longer, intricate songs and shorter, faster tracks, pushing the boundaries of melodic death metal. The album’s tracklist, including titles like "Star Crusher," "Pestiferous Haven" and the epic titular track "The Black Prism," promises an auditory journey of crushing riffs, relentless rhythms, and haunting melodies.

With their self-released The Black Prism, the album stands as a testament to their growth, skill, and dedication to the melodic death metal genre. As they prepare for this next chapter, Terrortory invites listeners to delve into the abyss and experience the full force of their musical evolution.
