THE SPIRIT - neue Single & Video "Room 101"
Die deutschen Blackened-Death-Metaller THE SPIRIT veröffentlichen eine neue Single „Room 101“ aus ihrem kommenden neuen Album „Songs Against Humanity“, das am 25. Oktober 2024 über AOP Records erscheinen wird.
Matthias Trautes sagt: "'Room 101' war der erste Song, den ich für das neue Album fertiggestellt habe. Textlich inspiriert von dem dystopischen Klassiker „1984“ von George Orwell, entführt dieser Song den Hörer in eine düstere Zukunft der Unterdrückung und des Todes des freien Willens. Es ist einer der kürzesten The Spirit-Tracks überhaupt, aber ein echter Knaller.“

THE SPIRIT remain loyal to their policy to release every two years a new album. After their third offering “Of Clarity and Galactic Structures” from 2022 where the band hit a new high in terms of song complexity and depth, the new output “Songs Against Humanity” goes again into another direction. Despite containing the two longest tracks in the bands career, the songs on the new record are way more straight forward and catchy as fuck.
The cover artwork was painted by internationally renowned artist Eliran Kantor. The band worked already for the second time with the Berlin based artist.
Like the last two records the new album has been recorded once again at Woodshed Studio, Germany, engineered by V. Santura and drums being tracked at Iguana Studios by Christoph Brandes. THE SPIRIT’s lyrics consist on one side of misanthropic views on the world and on the other side of cosmic themes that carry the listener deep into the vast of the universe.
