Parabol veröffentlichen EP "Sulajää"
Parabol - Estonian 5-piece outfit from Tartu, released their second release - EP "Sulajää" (Melted Ice), which is a five song album in Estonian, following their ambitious full-length “Higher Ground” which was released in 2019.
The purpose of "Sulajää" is to relate with the listener on a personal level and to discuss the danger of drowning in emotions and in the past. The record is built as a minimalist journey using winter-related and naturelike metaphors.
"We wanted to tell a complete story and pass on an experience that no one in our audience could foresee. In addition to the former style, there is a feeling that typical screamo is already done and we do not want to remain the band that does the same song or record over and over again. We want to keep the listener on his/her toes so that no one ever imagines what will happen next,” says Parabol’s frontman Alvar Antson.
"Sulajää" was written and performed by Alvar, who is also active in the local trap/hip-hop, edm and pop communities which has a reflexion in Parabol’s diverse sound & songwriting. The record was finished with the help of producer Sander Sadam who has previously produced records for most of the Estonian metalcore scene including Horror Dance Squad, Abandoned Elysium and Everfall.
Parabol is a five-member band from Tartu. In 2019, students studying computer and medical sciences released their debut album, “Higher Ground”, which has songs from acoustic ballads to screaming emo metal. The newly released "Sulajää" continues the band's journey with Estonian rock ballads.
