“Truce” is about allowing yourself to feel alright when you are on your own. An act of resistance against what we’ve been taught is love, putting up with co-dependance, abuses and anxiety.
03.04. BELAKO - " marinela2017 " (BMG RIGHTS/Warner) – digital Single überall erhältlich

An introspective journey that gets you lost when you can't find anything good about yourself. You become the spectator of your self-destruction, locked up in a ship that goes adrift and leads you to the most hostile dark place from which you can hardly find your way back home.

“Tie me up” is a runaway theme of guitars and stadium melodies that serves as a preview of the expected fourth album of BELAKO, “Plastic Drama” that will be released in May 2020 and will precede a long tour around Spain, Mexico, UK, USA, Germany and Japan. After having performed at the biggest festivals in the world (Reading & Leeds, Vive Latino, Finsbury Park, FIB ...) BELAKO allied with BMG for the final assault.
"Tie Me Up" calls for a kind of mantra we humans unconsciously assume on the privileged side of society.
We are dragged into a chain as an assembly line of environments and species.
We can no longer distinguish between consuming, producing and being consumed.
This song illustrates the dark side of the album “Plastic Drama”, the harsh reality our generation is facing and the only good use of the new technologies, which has been the ability to spread the word and call for action. The title of the album has another lecture, as it also reminds us the first world issues we’ve come so keen to complain about. We can only hope for a more responsible human legacy.
Named best new band by Rolling Stone Magazine in Spain, Belako comprises two powerhouse women in vocalist/keyboard player Cristina Lizarraga and bassist Lore Nekane Billelabeitia, alongside Lore’s brother Josu Ximun Billelabeitia, who plays guitar and drummer Lander Zalakain. Hailing from the small town of Mungia near San Sebastian, Belako have been playing non-stop in Spain these past few years, building a dedicated fanbase in their native county which has quickly been spilling out into other parts of Europe and beyond.
Having supported the likes of DMA’s on their 2019 UK Tour, QOTSA and Liam Gallagher at Finsbury Park, and played major international festivals such as Primavera, SXSW , Low, Rock En Seine, Benicassim and Reading & Leeds, Belako’s explosive live performances have excited crowds from small dive bars in their early days to huge international festivals more recently, and their anything-can-happen stage attitude showcases the power, electricity and punk ethos of this exciting young band.
‘Plastic Drama’ is the bands fourth record, but the first since signing a major international record deal, and certainly their most ambitious to date. Self-produced by the band, ‘Plastic Drama' searches for “the real meaning of things in a world that translates everything into assembly lines, manufacturing and the exploitation of living beings,” say the band. “It’s about the harsh reality our generation is facing and the only good use of new technology, which is the ability to spread the word and call for action. The title of the album has another message, as it also reminds us the first world issues we’ve come so keen to complain about. We can only hope for a more responsible human legacy”.
